The Oudmaker of Narooma (Preview Screening)

A preview screening of The Oudmaker of Narooma, a short film created by members of Far South Film, will be held at the Tathra Hotel from 4:30 pm Saturday 15 February 2020.

Created in collaboration with the One Book One Community for its “meet the author” event featuring Favel Parrett and her book There Was Still Love, the ten minute documentary tells the story of migrant luthier Faouzi Saouli, originally from Morocco, and his quest to create his ancient musical instruments in a new land with new wood in a new culture.

Faouzi’s story reflects the theme of Favel Parett’s book, described by Kerrie O’Brien in the Sydney Morning Herald as

“At heart… a universal story – about love and separation, longing and oppression, joy and sacrifice.”

This is a free, all ages event. Bookings on Eventbrite at : https://bit.ly/2S72r6d
